How Hashrights Works
Define a Collection
- Create a record that represents one or more assets you want to make saleable for partners.
- Associate the customers you know already have seen the collection.
- All customer identifiers are hashed using a deterministic function with a server-side salt.
Partner Queries the Collection
- Invites a partner and grants them limited query access to the collection.
- The partner submits a hashed customer (who they want to market to).
- Hashrights compares the hash to the collection internally, and no raw data is exchanged.
Privacy-Preserving Handshake
- If there is a match: the partner is told this customer has already been marketed to.
- If not: You can approve or decline the partner's intent to proceed.
- The partner never sees the entity list, and the entity never sees the partner target.
Hashing That Preserves Customer Identities
Hashrights never needs to expose raw customer lists to partners. We hash identifiers deterministically so the same customer always produces the same hash, and matching happens privately inside Hashrights.
- Normalize the customer email domain (lowercase).
- Append a server-side global salt.
- Compute SHA-256 and store only the hash.
- Compare hashes to detect duplicates without revealing lists.
